Barekuri village is situated in the district of Tinsukia, Assam. This place is popular for gibbon, known as Western Hoolock Gibbon. The villagers are helping to conserve them. They feed them bananas and other fruits. The males are black in color and females are grey-brown.

They sing so loud that their call can be heard from distant places. This is their way of showing dominance over their territory.

SPECIES OF SNAKES FOUND IN ASSAM The word 'snake' frightens almost everyone. They're the most misunderstood creature. Approximately, 80% of the species of snakes in India are non-venomous. Even the venomous ones doesn't usually bite humans. They know that we are too big for it, so sometimes they give dry bites (bite without venom) just to scare us. I rescue snakes and I found the following snakes till now, which are divided into 3 parts: VENOMOUS SPECIES 1. MONOCLED COBRA 2. SPECTACLED COBRA 3. BANDED KRAIT 4.GREATER BLACK KRAIT 5. RED-NECKED KEELBACK MILDLY VENOMOUS SPECIES 1. EASTERN CAT SNAKE NON-VENOMOUS SPECIES 1. BRAHMINY WORM SNAKE 2. CHECKERED KEELBACK 3. BUFF STRIPED KEELBACK 4. PAINTED BRONZEBACK TREE SNAKE 5.
